HOW BIG CAN YOU GO?
Follow these simple steps in order to see how big you can print your images!
1. Check the dimensions of your image
(MAC: Left click on your image/ Windows: Image > Right click> Properties)
2. You will find the dimensions in PIXELS
3. Divide the longest side in pixels by the desired print size in inches.
14 x 11 in print with a 4944 x 3696 pixels image
4944 pixels / 14 inches = 353 ppi (PPI = pixels per inch)
4. The rank of your Printing Resolution is the following:
Web only use (sorry): 72ppi
OK: 100 - 199
Excellent: 250 - 299
Superb Quality: 300 >
*Images saved from social media will always have 72ppi, save them from the original source instead.
*If you take photos with your phone, check that the adjustments have the highest Megapixel setting.
*Save your camera RAW files to TIFF instead of JPG (.jpg format compresses files reducing their number of pixels)
